For the 6th time in a row, Diani was voted by World Travel Awards (WTA), as Africa’s leading beach destination. WTA is highly regarded as the Oscars of the travel industry.
This was during the 2019 WTA edition held in Mauritius in June this year in which the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) was also voted Africa’s leading tourist board for the 7th time.
Diani is known for its vibrant tropical paradise that offers unlimited possibilities of both exciting and tranquil experiences. From the endless stretch of clean, white sands, the magical sunrises and sunsets, fresh breeze from the Indian Ocean, fine dining in magical settings of unmatched ambiance to the numerous adrenaline activities such as deep-sea diving, stand up paddle surfing, snorkeling and many more making this a victory worth deserving.
KTB bagged the award shortly in the backdrop of its refresh of the Magical Kenya brand with the objective of strongly and continuously promoting and positioning Kenya as an all year round diverse experience tourist destination to retain and attract emerging tourist markets.
KTB Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Betty Radier says that “As today traveler’s market needs continue to change to travelers looking for more specialized and personalized experiences, this win comes at a fortuitous time when we want the world to see Kenya as an all year round destination that delivers a wide variety of exhilarating and tranquil experiences an essence clearly illustrated in our new brand refresh logo.”
